Prof. Dr. Durmuş Acar, specializing in the Department of Business Administration; completed his undergraduate, master's, and doctoral education in the fields of Business / Accounting and Finance. He has dedicated a significant part of his academic career to the development of universities in the Isparta and Burdur regions, training numerous qualified undergraduate and graduate students in accounting standards and cost management.

During the period when the university structure in the region expanded, he successfully managed the establishment processes of the Bucak Hikmet Tolunay Vocational School, which was opened under Süleyman Demirel University at that time (currently providing education within MAKÜ), and served as the Founding Director of the school.

Following the current rector's resignation for candidacy as a member of parliament, he was appointed as acting rector by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) and has served as the university's highest-level administrator in the capacity of MAKÜ Acting Rector until a new rector is appointed.
